摘要

Abstract

Based on field investigations and relevant literature

this paper expounds on the cause of the extremely heavy floods in the Taihu Lake region in 1991

compares the flood-hit areas of 1954 with those of 1991

summarizes the experience on flood control and presents some useful proposals.
